Equine Sanctuary & Rescue
Our Equine Sanctuary and Rescue is dedicated to advancing the health and welfare of horses and other equine nationwide. We carry out this mission by engaging community-based volunteers in equine rescue, foster care, and adoption programs geared toward preventing animal abuse, neglect, and slaughter.
By striving to ensure healthy living conditions for all equine, we believe that citizens young and old will gain a better understanding of the equine species and its important contribution to the American way of life.
We need your help and support to reach our short term rescue goals, the end purpose of which is always the same- to ultimately allow us to take in more and more needy equine. Your help and support is vital to our ability to succeede, even to operate. When you read this page, we hope that you see that you are reading about yourself, as well, because you are us. We are you. You are on this website because you have the same goals as us (to save horses/equine); the same agenda as us (to save horses/equine); the same expectation for the end: (to keep horses safe forever). So please, won't you put your hand in our hand, and together, let us hold the horses in our hand, and keep them safe, majestic, and happy forever and ever, and always.
Many people are under the mistaken impression that they cannot assist a rescue because they do not have horse-keeping facilities, horse knowledge, enough spare time, or because they live too far away. We are happy to inform these people that none of these things will prevent them from helping intercept troubled equine and transition them into flourishing new lives! A lack of horse-keeping facilities is not a problem; many of our volunteer positions have nothing to do with hands-on equine care. Many do not require any prior knowledge or training. The weekly time needed to complete each volunteer duty is less than 5 hours per week, for most positions. We have many virtual volunteering opportunities, as well.

Dogs Play a Role in Japan Disaster
Our hearts and prayers go out to the people in Japan in this time of incredible tragedy. 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami in one of the most heavily populated, island countries in the world...and with our technology, we have seen it all unfold and heard all the personal stories.
Six Canine Disaster Search Teams trained by the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation (SDF) have arrived in Japan and will be traveling to the devastated region where the skills of the canines are critically needed to find people still trapped in
the rubble.
The teams have their gear ready and are waiting to leave the Misawa Air Base and head to Ofunato City on the North East coast of Japan where they will be conducting reconnaissance and primary searches. The group is divided into the RED team (Jasmine & Cadillac, Eric & Riley, Gary & Baxter), and the BLUE team (Bill & Hunter, Linda & Joe, Ron & Pearl).
